Economic Analysis for Proposed Water Quality Objectives for Mercury in the State of California

Abstract

The California State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) is considering fish tissue objectives for mercury for the protection of human health and wildlife, and implementation procedures for the objectives. Under contract with USEPA, Abt Associates and PG Environmental provided the State Water Board with an analysis of economic factors related to the proposal including compliance with the water quality objectives, available methods to achieve compliance with these options, and the costs of those methods.
